Third wastewater treatment plant construction project to complete in June

The 3rd wastewater treatment plant construction project, located in Village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk coastal province, is expected to complete in June this year as scheduled.
The information was shared during the inspection visit to the construction by Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Implemented by XWATER Technology Co., Ltd., the construction process would take 22 months and cost about US$20 million.
Built with Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology, the latest Israeli technology, the three wastewater treatment plants are part of many achievements, such as the 37-road infrastructure, high-rise buildings and other new infrastructure, invested by the Royal Government to turn Sihanoukville into a Smart City and Preah Sihanouk province into an important multi-purpose model special economic zone in the country.
The 1st wastewater treatment plant has the capacity to treat 5,200 cubic meters of wastewater per day, the 2nd some 7,200 cubic metres, and the 3rd around 20,000 cubic meters a day.
Besides, there are seven wastewater pumping stations in Preah Sihanouk province, four of which have been built by the National Committee for Coastal Management and Development of Cambodia and the other three by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
